Jubilee Celebrations

This week marks the official celebrations of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations!

Regardless if you are a Royalist or not it is hard not to be moved and roused by the public outpouring of love and respect for our Monarch.

Dedicating 70 years of your life to any cause, profession or role is admirable and to have done so with such grace and stoicism is incredible.

We must bear in mind that this was never the life that was destined for our Queen.  With the sudden abdication of her Uncle, Edward VIII, her Father, George VI, became King and in turn she was thrust into a life she had not planned.  Then with the early death of her Father she became Queen at the young age of 25 in 1952.  Reigning for 70 years she has been steadfast, loyal and above all else a constant in most of our lives.

Whatever you are planning to do to mark this most momentous occasion I do hope it is enjoyable and spent with those you love.  Have fun and dont forget – pinkies out!
